De Rijke & Co. is proud to announce the launch of three new limited edition driver’s watches created in collaboration with automotive illustrator Guy Allen.
Limited to 50 pieces per version.
An ongoing collaboration. De Rijke & Co. and Guy Allen have enjoyed a creative collaboration spanning eight years. Initially the partnership focused on the creation of illustrations to promote the companies first timepieces. By 2024 this creative relationship had evolved, resulting in the development of a first series of Amalfi special editions – Land, Sea and Air. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response to Series 1 and driven by feedback from clients and customers, Series 2 of the Amalfi special editions advances the automotive theme.
In a departure from earlier iterations, the new Amalfi watches feature ceramic cases. Some watchmakers combine ceramic with steel underpinnings, but De Rijke & Co. chose to undertake the time-consuming process of developing a fully ceramic two piece case. Combined with a sapphire crystal a new Amalfi watch will serve as a dependable companion on any road trip.
Champlevé enamel dials have been a feature of all the Amalfi special editions. Amazon, Sahara and Turini take the process to another level with the introduction of 3D engraving. The lower half of each solid silver dial features engraved detail with subtle variations in depth, encased in a polished layer of transparent grand feu enamel. With vibrant colours and an exquisite play of light the dials possess a real sense of three dimensional depth.
De Rijke & Co. continue to work with a highly experienced craftsman in the UK, a specialist in the production and restoration of exquisite enamel work. Production of the highly detailed engraved case backs is carried out in house, with the lengthy process of hand finishing and assembly also carried out at the De Rijke atelier.
